DEPARTMENT OF PHYSIOTHERAPY & DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY MEDICINE
A general health screening and awareness camp for the geriatric population was held on 29th and 30th of January 2024 by the Department of Physiotherapy at urban health training center, kavoor – Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy in association with Department of Community Medicine – A J Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center, Mangalore. The camp was open to all the geriatric population of the community. A total of 37 people attended the camp, 22 on the first day and 15 on the second day. The camp was organized by the post graduate students of LMCP under the guidance of Dr. ABHILASH P.V Associate Professor & PRO LMET, DR. SANJAY EAPEN SAMUEL – Principal LMCP, Dr. HARISH S KRISHNA- Associate Professor LMCP and Dr. VISHNU K NAIR – Associate professor LMCP. The camp had 6 stations: vitals examination, cognitive assessment, postural analysis, balance and gait assessment, functional capacity tests, and foot assessment. The PG students of LMCP were assigned at each of the stations for screening the general health of geriatric population who attended the camp. After the screening tests, a consultation by Dr. HARISH S KRISHNA for further geriatric health awareness and treatment programs.
