On the occasion of International Day of Disabled Persons 2022, Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy (AJ group of institutions) conducted an awareness talk on Prevention of Age related Disability, as a community engagement initiative programme organized by Canara Bank Retired Officers Association at CBOA Hall, Lalbagh on 7th December 2022 and Corporation Bank Retired Officers Association at CBOO centre, Kodialbail on 3rd December 2022. In addition to the officials, Dr. Abhilash PV, Public Relation Officer, AJ Group of Institutions and Associate Professor, Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy addressed the gathering, and Dr. Haripriya S and Dr. Sreejisha PK supervised the event executed by post graduate students of Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy.
The talk involved education about the effects of ageing on the various body systems, and information about how exercises can prevent age related disability. This was followed by screening evaluation of the participants for cognitive function, physical functioning and quality of life.
