‘Dhwani’, Autism Awareness Program was conducted on April 4th, 2022 by AJ Institute of Medical Science and research center and ARIVU trust in association with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP)-DK chapter at AJ medical college auditorium. Dr. Megha Rao, a postgraduate student of Pediatrics at AJIMS welcomed everyone on behalf of the organizing committee. The program commenced by welcoming all the dignitaries on the stage. The dignitaries of the program are Dr. Ashok Hegde, Dean JIMS, Dr. Santhosh Soans, HOD Pediatric Department AJIMS, Mr. Gopalkrishna, Disability officer, Dr. Srikrishna, President IAP, Dr. Abhishek K, Secretary IAP, Dr. Radhakrishna Bhat, Dr. Purnima Bhat Founders of ARIVU Trust, Mr. Muthuraj NGO support. Inaugurated the program with the lighting of the lamp symbolizing peace, positivity, and joy followed by a prayer song sung beautifully by the kids of the Arivu foundation accompanied by Dr. Purnima Bhat. A large number of differently-abled students belonging to Arivu trust, Chetana special school, and Riya foundation unleashed their hidden talents in the form of singing and dancing. The trailer of the movie ‘Varnapatala’ was released thereafter. The Paediatric department of Physiotherapy under the guidance of Dr. Sreejisha presented an astonishing act ‘UDAAN’ portraying an autistic kid and narrating it in the form of a dance act and showcased a rehabilitation team through which they conveyed and extend solidarity towards the autistic community. Following this, there were mesmerizing performances performed by the kids of Arivu Foundation, and Riya Foundation, and inspirational speeches.
